How to Practice Patience

Practicing patience as an adult is a skill that many of us are just now learning. In today's fast-paced world, where we expect to receive whatever we want instantly, learning to be patient can seem like torture. However, it is important to understand that many things in life take time to unfold and resolve. By practicing patience, we can navigate challenging situations with a sense of calmness and peace. When we react quickly out of frustration or anger, we often make the problem worse. As we learn to choose patience, we can approach difficulties with a clear and level-headed mindset, creating better outcomes.

One powerful way to develop patience as an adult is through the practice of meditation and stillness. Taking time each day to quiet the mind, focus on the present moment, and connect with our inner selves can help us develop the ability to remain patient in the presence of challenges. Meditation allows us to observe our thoughts and emotions without judgment, which allows us to respond thoughtfully rather than react quickly. Through consistent practice, we can strengthen our ability to regulate our thoughts, feelings, and reactions, creating a sense of inner peace and patience that will ultimately keep our vibration elevated.

As adults, we should be able to recognize the importance of emotional regulation and therefore displaying self-control. Learning to manage our impulses, frustrations, and reactions is a sign of maturity and personal + spiritual growth. By connecting to the power of the spirit within us, we can tap into the energy of patience and understanding that transmutes instability and negative emotions. A daily practice of meditation and stillness can empower us to navigate life's challenges which opens the doorway to living in the flow. Remember, true strength lies not in losing control, but in our ability to maintain self-control and to respond with patience and wisdom.

If you are guided to begin meditating, it would be helpful to start with a 1 minute meditation in the morning. As you awake in the morning, place your back against your head board, and just be. There is no need to do anything. Just allow yourself to be in the present moment and observe how you feel. If you close your eyes, what do you feel? Do you feel anxious, do you feel afraid that something is in the room? This is normal. Just observe with your eyes open for a few seconds and then close them. When you do this daily you will begin to develop a practice of self awareness. Many people do not have time to sit by themselves, so that they can get to know who they are and how they feel. This makes life very challenging, because if you're in a state of confusion, it will be very difficult for you to receive guidance from Spirit. "Spirit speaks to us in Silence". Peace is spiritual, and unfortunately until we connect to the Spirit we will not truly experience what it's like to vibrate on that frequency. It takes time and patience and when you decide to meditate or practice stillness, you are deciding to connect with the Spirit of calmness and peace within. Remember that there is no time in spirit. As you shift from the physical to spirit you will naturally release the need to rush through life.

A Little Something to Think About:

  • By practicing patience, we can navigate challenging situations with a sense of calmness and peace.
  • Meditation allows us to observe our thoughts and emotions without judgment, which allows us to respond thoughtfully rather than react quickly.
  • Remember, true strength lies not in losing control, but in our ability to maintain self-control and to respond with patience and wisdom.
  • As you shift from the physical to spirit you will naturally release the need to rush through life.
