What is Self-Love???

True self-love is a journey that often starts with understanding the importance of setting boundaries and recognizing when it's time to prioritize yourself. Many of us have been conditioned to believe that caring for others should always come first, but neglecting our own needs can lead to burnout and resentment. Taking care of yourself is not selfish! "No is a complete sentence". "Self love is Self respect". By learning to say no when necessary and setting boundaries that honor your own needs, you are practicing self-love. You have to be willing to "talk it and walk it!" If people sense that you are the type of person that has no boundaries, they will cross you every time.

Our desire to constantly give to others could come from a deep- rooted need to feel valued and appreciated, but seeking validation from others can be a slippery slope that can lead to more disappointment from others. When we rely on others to affirm our worth, we are placing our happiness and self-esteem in the hands of other people. True self-love involves having a strong sense of self-worth that is not based on the approval of others. Ask yourself often "How do I feel about myself?". By learning to love and accept ourselves unconditionally, we can break free from the cycle of seeking attention and validation.

Self-love is a journey that requires patience, self-compassion, and a willingness to confront our fears and insecurities. It may involve unlearning limited beliefs and so-called "societal norms" that have shaped our understanding of love and worthiness. By practicing self-care routines, engaging in activities that bring us joy, and surrounding ourselves with supportive and nurturing relationships, we can have a deep sense of self-love and higher self esteem. Remember, knowing your worth is your responsibility, and learning to love yourself unconditionally is the greatest gift you can give not only to yourself but also to the people in your world.
